AUBURN, MAINE – Early this morning, chaos erupted at a residence on 45 Smith Street when an 18-year-old, Chase Snow, allegedly stabbed one victim and shot two others during a party. The Auburn Police Department responded to the violent altercation at approximately 3:20 a.m., discovering three male victims: two adults and one juvenile.
Upon arrival, officers found the victims suffering from serious injuries—two with gunshot wounds and one with stab wounds. Emergency Medical Services quickly transported all three to Central Maine Medical Center, where they are reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Authorities revealed that the violence stemmed from a confrontation at a party hosted at the Smith Street residence. Chase Snow, an Auburn resident, was identified as the primary suspect and apprehended at the scene. He now faces multiple charges, including Elevated Aggravated Assault (Class A), Aggravated Assault (Class B), Reckless Conduct (Class C), and Aggravated Reckless Conduct (Class B). Snow is currently being held without bail at the Androscoggin County Jail, awaiting his initial court appearance.
In addition to Snow’s charges, Daniel Day, a 19-year-old Auburn resident, and his mother, Wendy Day, 57, are facing legal consequences for hosting the party. Both were charged with Furnishing a Place for Minors to Consume Alcohol (Class C), which allegedly contributed to the circumstances leading to the violent escalation.
The Auburn Police Department, in collaboration with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, is actively investigating the case. Mutual aid during the response was provided by the Lewiston Police Department and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities have stated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation unfolds.
