Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is under fire for what critics are calling fearmongering after she attributed a hypothetical terrorist attack to President Joe Biden, drawing attention to the shared border with Mexico. On her official congressional social media account, Greene asserted that the Biden Administration would be entirely to blame for any potential attack due to border-related issues.
In her post, Greene claimed, If God forbid, there is a terrorist attack in America, the Biden Administration is entirely to blame [because] of the border!!! She further alleged, without providing evidence, that there are TERRORISTS HERE among the 1.8 MILLION got aways in America.
While some individuals in the comments supported Greene’s stance, others accused her of fearmongering and questioned the lack of evidence for her claims. Gail Helt, a former CIA officer and political science professor, criticized Greene’s purported ignorance, stating, You don’t know that they’re here. Don’t let that stop you from fear mongering though.
Critics from various political perspectives accused Greene of using fearmongering tactics for political gain.
