Shocking Revelation: Political Vendetta Behind Trump Trial? House Report Exposes Manhattan DA
scathing report released by the House Judiciary Committee, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is accused of pursuing criminal charges against former President Donald Trump as part of a political vendetta. The report, titled “An Anatomy of a Political Prosecution: The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Vendetta Against President Donald J. Trump,” alleges that Bragg’s actions threaten the core principle of blind justice.

The committee claims that Bragg’s decision to charge Trump with 34 felony counts in the “hush money” case was politically motivated and aimed at undermining Americans’ confidence in the judicial system. According to the report, Bragg used a novel legal theory to elevate misdemeanor allegations into felonies, alleging that the prosecution was driven by political calculations.
The report also alleges that Bragg succumbed to pressure from former special prosecutor Mark Pomerantz, who led an investigation into Trump’s finances. Pomerantz, who authored a book titled “People vs. Donald Trump,” resigned from the Manhattan prosecutor’s office in 2022 due to Bragg’s initial unwillingness to pursue a criminal case against the former president.
The committee’s report describes Pomerantz’s book as part of a public pressure campaign to force Bragg into action, claiming that Bragg indicted Trump in April 2023 because he succumbed to Pomerantz’s pressure campaign. However, when Pomerantz appeared before the Judiciary Committee, he refused to give substantive responses, invoking Fifth Amendment protections.
The report highlights evidence of Bragg’s open animosity towards Trump and questions the legal basis for elevating misdemeanor charges into felonies. Under New York state law, falsifying business records is a misdemeanor, but Bragg used a novel legal theory to elevate the charges to felonies, extending the statute of limitations to five years.
President Trump has denied any wrongdoing, alleging that the case is politically motivated. Legal experts have also raised concerns about the way Bragg elevated the charges, with some arguing that it raises serious legal questions.
The House Judiciary Committee’s report concludes that Bragg’s politically motivated prosecution of Trump threatens the principle of blind justice and erodes the confidence of the American people in the judicial system. The committee advocates for legislative solutions to address politically motivated prosecutions, including the No More Political Prosecutions Act.
