Newly released video footage from The Daily Beast captures former President Donald Trump during a golf outing, where he boasts about forcing President Joe Biden out of the presidential race. In the footage, released on Wednesday, June 3, the Republican speculates that he’ll likely face Vice President Kamala Harris instead.
In the video, Trump is heard saying, “He just quit, you know — he’s quitting the race,” appearing confident that Biden will not be on the ballot in the November election. “I got him out of the — and that means we have Kamala,” Trump continues. He then derogatorily calls Biden a “broken-down pile of crap” and adds that Harris would be a better opponent and could cause a little more trouble for him, before dismissing her too. “I think she’s gonna be better as an opponent, but even so she’s so bad. She’s so pathetic.”
Meanwhile, Biden’s shaky debate performance against Trump last week has sparked intense scrutiny from both the media and Democratic allies. Although Biden has not indicated any intention to withdraw from the election, some reports suggest he is privately evaluating his campaign’s future, contingent on the success of his upcoming public appearances and interviews.

A few current and former Democratic officials have hinted that the president should consider stepping aside. However, the party, for the most part, remains solidly behind Biden’s candidacy. Should Biden decide to drop out, Harris would become the automatic replacement, given that she is already part of the ticket. This would allow her to utilize the resources of the Biden campaign, whereas any new candidate would need to start their campaign from scratch.
Trump has made it a habit to mock Biden, who he has publicly given numerous nicknames, including “Sleepy Joe” and “Deranged Joe”. He has also been blaming him for his legal woes, terming him the man behind his court cases and accusing him of liaising with the Justice Department to have him prosecuted in numerous states. He also maintains that Biden is unlawfully in office, holding that he was the winner in 2020 and not Biden.
