Prince William’s salary as the Duke of Cornwall has caused quite a stir after it was revealed that he earned an astonishing $30.4 million in his first full year under the new title. This substantial amount covers not only his personal expenses but also those of his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.

The disclosure came from a report by the Duchy of Cornwall, providing a rare glimpse into the royal finances. The report highlights a significant increase in the Royal Family’s travel expenditure, which surged by nearly $400,000 to a total of $5.4 million in 2023. This increase occurred despite a reduction of approximately 400 visits and a decrease in foreign travel compared to the previous year, as noted by The Independent.

Interestingly, while Prince William’s salary details have been made public, his tax bill remains undisclosed. This marks a departure from the tradition set by his father, King Charles III, who annually published a detailed breakdown of his taxes. In 2022, King Charles III paid $7.6 million in taxes during his final year as Duke of Cornwall.

Kensington Palace has assured that Prince William is meeting his income tax obligations, even though specific details are not being made public. The Daily Telegraph reported that the palace has stated William is paying an “appropriate” level of income tax as required by law.

As Duke of Cornwall, Prince William now oversees an estate valued at around $1 billion. Established by Edward III in 1337, the Duchy of Cornwall spans roughly 205 square miles across the U.K. and includes a diverse portfolio of assets such as arable and livestock farms, residential and commercial properties, forests, rivers, quarries, and coastline.

In addition to his financial role, Prince William has recently taken on several new patronages and titles. He has been named Patron of the Football Association (FA), a role that reflects his long-standing passion for soccer. William also traveled to Berlin with Prince George to watch England’s defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Other new responsibilities for Prince William include patronages with the Welsh Guards Charity and the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association. Furthermore, he will serve as president of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association, which honors civilians and military personnel with the highest military accolades.

This revelation not only sheds light on Prince William’s financial standing but also highlights his expanding role within various charitable and ceremonial capacities.
