In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Greene made the assertion on August 7, 2024. Her comments came in the wake of a rally in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where attendees were seen chanting “this is what democracy looks like” as they awaited Harris’s appearance. The slogan, a staple of democratic protests, seemed to irritate Greene and other Republicans.
Greene’s accusation intensifies the ongoing political debate about the legitimacy of the Democratic leadership transition.
