Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is bracing for a critical battle in the 2024 election, firmly opposing any efforts by former President Donald Trump to disrupt the voting process in her state. In a revealing interview on MSNBC with host Katie Phang, Nessel expressed serious concerns about potential election tampering and outlined her strategy to counteract these threats.
Nessel made it clear that she anticipates Trump will employ tactics similar to those used in the 2020 election, targeting the integrity of the electoral process rather than focusing solely on undecided voters. “I think it is probably his number one strategy, honestly,” Nessel said, suggesting that Trump’s campaign might attempt to undermine the election itself.
The Attorney General pointed out existing initiatives in Michigan aimed at manipulating the election through illegal means. She noted efforts to recruit Republicans for roles such as poll workers and local clerks, intended to influence the outcome in an unauthorized manner. “What I see is these efforts that are already in place here on the ground in Michigan to try to subvert the election,” Nessel remarked.

Nessel’s warnings indicate that the 2024 election could be even more contentious than the 2020 contest. She anticipates challenges that will far exceed those faced in the previous election cycle. “I think that what we saw in 2020, you know, it is going to pale in comparison to what we are likely going to see in 2024,” she said.
Her commitment to defending the electoral process is evident as she prepares for a vigorous defense of democratic principles. Nessel emphasized the importance of safeguarding votes against any attempts at subversion, highlighting the significant effort required to ensure the integrity of the election.
In her passionate defense of Michigan’s electoral system, Nessel’s proactive stance underscores the state’s readiness to confront any challenges to democratic processes as the 2024 election approaches.
