Mason Greenwood, the former Manchester United striker, is reportedly set to become a father for the second time. After making a permanent move to French club Marseille this summer, Greenwood has received exciting news off the pitch alongside his successful start with his new team.

The 23-year-old forward left Old Trafford following the dropping of serious charges, including attempted rape and assault, by the Crown Prosecution Service. Since joining Marseille, Greenwood has made a significant impact, scoring five goals in just seven appearances across all competitions.

In addition to his on-field success, Greenwood is expecting his second child with partner Harriett Robinson. The couple already shares a daughter named Summer, born in July 2023. A source quoted by The Sun mentioned, “Mason has done a lot of growing up in the last couple of years, especially since he has become a father. He and Harriett are enjoying life out of the intense spotlight that comes with being a United player. He is much more settled off the pitch, which means he can concentrate on his football.”

Prior to his move to Marseille, Greenwood spent last season on loan at Spanish club Getafe. The decision regarding his future was influenced by discussions involving Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the INEOS owner. He commented in February, “We have to make decisions. There is no decision that’s been made. He’s on loan obviously, but he’s not the only one.”

Ratcliffe emphasized the need to assess players based on their character and contributions, stating, “Understand the facts, not the hype. Then try to come to a fair decision based on values: is he a good guy or not?”

While Greenwood’s recent performances have raised questions about his potential return to the England national team, interim boss Lee Carsley quickly dismissed the idea, noting, “Mason wasn’t a player we could consider. I’m aware of how he’s doing, but he wasn’t under consideration.”

As Greenwood embraces this new chapter in his personal life, fans and supporters are watching closely as he continues to navigate his football career in France. The upcoming arrival of his second child adds another layer of joy and responsibility as he looks to make a lasting impression in Ligue 1.
