Excitement fills the air for the Los Angeles Rams as rookie running back Blake Corum shared his thoughts on the return of star wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. Following their comeback against the Minnesota Vikings, Corum emphasized how the energy from Nacua and Kupp can propel the team towards success for the remainder of the season.
A Game-Changing Duo
The Rams enjoyed a significant boost during their 30-20 victory over the Vikings at SoFi Stadium, with quarterback Matthew Stafford now armed with more offensive weapons. Nacua made an immediate impact, finishing the game with seven catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. Although Kupp had a quieter night, the combined effort of the two star receivers accounted for a total of 157 receiving yards.
Corum noted the importance of having both players back in the lineup. “Yeah, we were rolling today,” he stated. “It starts with practice. It was great having those guys back. They definitely bring a lot of energy, so it felt really good, and it looked good.” This newfound energy not only boosted the offense but also helped Stafford distribute the ball to other players effectively.

Spreading the Energy Across the Team
With Nacua and Kupp back on the field, the Rams’ offense became more dynamic. Corum himself contributed to the game with a catch for nine yards, while Demarcus Robinson made significant contributions with two touchdown receptions. The depth of options for Stafford extended to running back Kyren Williams, who also caught a touchdown pass. This variety in playmakers allows the Rams to keep defenses guessing and creates a more balanced offense.
“We preach it all the time,” Corum said about the energy brought by Nacua and Kupp. “Coach [Sean] McVay, our organization, we preach energy. We talked about it strictly starting with one [win], now we’re at two. So just keep building on those – and we’ll be successful.”
The infectious energy even translated to the Rams’ defense. In a crucial moment during the fourth quarter, the defense was able to sack Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold, forcing a safety that further solidified their lead. Corum highlighted how one unit’s success can uplift the others, creating a positive momentum throughout the team.

Looking Ahead to Playoff Aspirations
As the Rams look toward the future, questions loom about the upcoming trade deadline. Initially seen as potential sellers, the team’s dynamic following the returns of Kupp and Nacua may shift their focus toward making a playoff push. With the NFC West wide open, Corum and the Rams believe they can capitalize on their momentum.
Despite trade speculations swirling around the team, Corum remains focused on what the Rams can control. “Keep your head down, keep working, treat it a day at a time, a week at a time, game at a time,” he urged. “Let everything else fall into place. As long as we stick together and keep our heads down, feeding off each other’s energy, we’re going to have a successful season.”
