LUBBOCK, TX – A tragic night unfolded in North Lubbock as authorities confirmed a murder-suicide that claimed two lives and left one injured. The incident, which occurred Tuesday night on Wabash Street, involved 33-year-old John Guerrero, who allegedly shot his family members before taking his own life.
Lubbock police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire just before 9:15 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds inside the residence. Investigators later identified the victims as 61-year-old Tony Guerrero and 61-year-old Rosa Salazar Guerrero.
Authorities believe John Guerrero fatally shot Tony Guerrero before turning the gun on Rosa Salazar Guerrero, who was critically injured. She was immediately transported for medical care, though her current condition remains undisclosed. After the shooting, John Guerrero reportedly turned the weapon on himself, dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.
