Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib is experiencing a drop in public support, as revealed by a recent Newsweek report on December 2, 2023. The survey, conducted by Redfield and Wilton Strategies, indicates a negative trend in Tlaib’s approval ratings among eligible voters in the state.
The poll found a notable shift in sentiment, with more people disapproving than approving of Tlaib’s job performance. The controversial congresswoman, known for her outspoken views and actions, faced censure in the House of Representatives for using a slogan deemed antisemitic.
The survey, with a sample size of 860 respondents, showed that 30% disapproved of Tlaib’s work, 24% approved, and 28% were unsure, resulting in a net approval rating of minus 6%.
Despite the setback, Tlaib garnered support as 33% disagreed with the House’s reprimand, while 28% agreed, and 26% remained undecided. In response to the censure, Tlaib’s campaign sought donations to stand up to those who seek to silence us.
Furthermore, the Coolidge Reagan Foundation urged the State Bar of Michigan to investigate Tlaib’s remarks, accusing her of spreading antisemitic propaganda. Tlaib had previously faced criticism for urging a ceasefire in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas conflict.
