Former President Donald Trump has ignited a fresh wave of controversy after posting a campaign video on Truth Social, urging his supporters to “do whatever it takes” to ensure his victory in the GOP primaries. In the minute-long clip, Trump expressed gratitude to his campaign organizers, specifically addressing the Trump caucus captains, and emphasized the importance of mobilizing supporters for caucuses.
“The most important thing you can do for our campaign is to lock in your ‘Ten for Trump’ and send them out for caucuses and teach them how to caucus, take them into your car on caucus night,” Trump stated in the video. He continued, “If you have to, do whatever is necessary … we got to make America great again. So do whatever it takes. If you do, we will win and win big.”
The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), triggered strong reactions from social media users, with many criticizing Trump’s remarks as hypocritical and potentially incendiary. One user commented, “This is straight out of Trump’s playbook of ‘everyone else is cheating but me,’ except he’s too stupid to hide the fact that he’s doing the exact thing he’s accusing others of doing.”
Another social media user raised concerns about the implications of Trump’s statement, referencing the events of January 6, 2023, when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol. The user questioned, “Isn’t this EXACTLY what he said that led to the January 6 riots where his ‘supporters’ tried to coup the entire government for their King-God Trump?”
This recent video adds to the growing criticism of Trump’s social media presence. He has faced ridicule for his posts on Truth Social, a platform he launched after being banned from major social media networks. In one of his recent posts, Trump lashed out about a gag order imposed by Federal District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, claiming it was an attempt to undermine his campaign.
“REMEMBER, CROOKED JOE BIDEN AND HIS RADICAL LEFT THUGS WAITED THREE YEARS TO BRING THESE INDICTMENTS & LAWSUITS AGAINST ME, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CAMPAIGN!” Trump wrote, sparking further scrutiny and mockery from his critics.
Despite the controversies, Trump’s support among likely Republican voters remains strong. According to Real Clear Politics, he continues to lead the GOP primaries, polling at 58%, a substantial 46 points ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is in second place with just 13%.
As the political landscape heats up, Trump’s statements and actions continue to captivate public attention, raising questions about the impact of his influence on the upcoming elections and the broader political discourse in the United States.
