A surprising twist, 10 Wisconsin electors who previously endorsed false documents claiming Trump’s victory in the 2020 election have backtracked. A legal settlement filed on December 6, 2023, reveals their admission that Joe Biden was the true winner in Wisconsin.
Former Wisconsin GOP Chair Andrew Hitt, among the electors, had fabricated electoral vote certificates, wrongly awarding Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes to Trump, despite Biden’s actual win by around 21,000 votes. Their attempt to overturn Trump’s loss in the state failed.
As part of the 184-page legal settlement, the electors formally retracted the false documents and conceded Biden’s rightful victory. Strikingly, they committed to abstaining from serving as electors in 2024 or engaging in any election involving Trump. Even in Trump’s absence from the ballot, they pledged not to transmit false electoral vote certificates.
