Rapper 50 Cent has addressed speculations from fans suggesting that he used the slimming drug Ozempic for his recent weight loss of 40lbs over eight months leading up to his Final Lap tour.
Taking to Instagram, the renowned artist with 30.8 million followers denied any association with Ozempic, attributing his weight loss to rigorous workouts during his global tour. He emphasized his dedication to fitness, stating, “You want to talk about weight loss, I was in the gym, I was working the f*** out, man.”
Refuting claims of Ozempic use, 50 Cent clarified his fitness routine, saying, “They’re gonna say it’s Ozempic; I was running, I was doing what I had to do, you’ve seen me on tour, I run around. I was 253 pounds, I’ve come down, I’m 210 right now – tell me how you feel about it; you tell me how you feel about it later.”
A source informed Page Six that the rapper’s substantial weight loss resulted from an intensive eight-month fitness regimen involving three hours of daily gym sessions. The motivation behind this effort was 50 Cent’s preparation for his Final Lap tour, which commenced in July of the previous year.
50 Cent faced commentary about his weight after his performance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, where he shared the stage with rap legends like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. Responding to online teasing about his appearance, the rapper addressed it on Instagram, stating, “I call this teasing me, They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight. That’s why I laugh with them. Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat. LOL.”
