Tragic incident in Florida, a devastating collision involving a pickup truck driver, Bryan Maclean Howard, has left a trail of destruction, claiming the lives of eight migrant farmworkers and injuring many others. Howard, aged 41, faced his initial court hearing heavily bandaged, pleading not guilty to a series of charges, including manslaughter due to driving under the influence.
The fatal crash unfolded early Tuesday morning on State Road 40 in Ocala, Florida. Howard, the accused driver, reportedly confessed to authorities that he had consumed marijuana oil and prescription medications the night before the incident. He disclosed that he was en route to a methadone clinic for treatment related to a chipped vertebra, although he claimed to have no memory of the collision itself.
Howard’s driving history came under scrutiny, revealing a pattern of offenses spanning back several years. Court records unveiled multiple crashes and traffic violations dating back to 2006, including citations for crossing the center line. His license had been suspended on several occasions, the latest being in 2021 due to excessive citations within a year.
