Candid critique of Democratic leaders, the tech entrepreneur did not hold back in expressing his dissatisfaction with their hesitancy to take decisive action amid purported poll troubles for President Biden in key states.
Yang, known for his outspoken views, pointed out what he perceived as vulnerabilities in Biden’s polling numbers, citing an eight-point deficit in Georgia and Michigan, along with a nine-point lag in North Carolina.
“Joe Biden, whom I supported last time, in my view, is going to deliver us to Trump the sequel,” cautioned Yang, suggesting that Biden’s perceived complacency could prove costly for Democrats in the upcoming election.
Commending Phillips for his courage and conviction to challenge the status quo, Yang emphasized the importance of providing the American electorate with a meaningful choice in its leaders.
Phillips, initially reluctant to enter the race, made a surprising announcement in October, advocating for a competitive primary to ensure a robust selection process rather than Biden running unopposed.
In a recent interview, Phillips stressed that the 2024 election is about the future, asserting that the country deserves better than a rematch between Biden and former President Trump.
Dismissing any notion of Biden surpassing Trump in the upcoming election, Phillips boldly asserted that there is not “one shred of evidence” to support such a claim.
During a campaign event in Manchester, N.H., Yang further championed Phillips as a candidate representing the future. He underscored the importance of having a younger leader in office to address challenges like artificial intelligence, suggesting it would “help me sleep more soundly at night.” Yang implied that the Biden administration might be complacent, assuming they would retain office regardless of their actions.
This revelation unfolded just days before the New Hampshire primary is set to commence on Tuesday, Jan. 23, adding palpable tension to the political landscape. As Democratic candidates navigate the path to victory, they do so against the backdrop of Andrew Yang’s ominous prediction of ‘Trump the Sequel’ looming over the 2024 election.
