Channing Tatum finds himself embroiled in a legal battle with his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, over the earnings from his immensely successful “Magic Mike” franchise. Dewan is seeking a larger portion of the profits, claiming her entitlement to half of the earnings due to her involvement during their marriage.
The dispute escalated as Dewan requested a separate trial solely focused on the “Magic Mike” earnings, a move known as “bifurcation.” However, Tatum’s legal team vehemently opposed this strategy, arguing that it could delay the resolution and potentially lead to Dewan seeking an unjust windfall.
During court proceedings, Dewan’s lawyer defended the bifurcation request, emphasizing that the “Magic Mike” intellectual property was developed during their marriage, making it community property. On the other hand, Tatum’s attorney acknowledged the origin of the franchise during the marriage but stressed the significant contributions Tatum made post-separation.

Judge David Wasserman refrained from making an immediate ruling and scheduled a settlement meeting for October 3, providing both parties with an opportunity to negotiate further. If an agreement cannot be reached, a trial readiness conference will take place on November 15 to address the bifurcation motion or proceed to trial.
The contentious divorce proceedings have also seen accusations from Dewan regarding Tatum’s alleged concealment of “Magic Mike” earnings post-split. However, Tatum vehemently denied these claims, asserting that Dewan has always been aware of and had access to their financial records.
Despite their official divorce in 2019, unresolved issues regarding asset division, spousal maintenance, and child support for their daughter Everly persist. Meanwhile, both Tatum and Dewan have moved on romantically, with Tatum engaged to Zoe Kravitz and Dewan expecting a child with Steve Kazee.
As the legal battle continues, the fate of the “Magic Mike” earnings and the resolution of their financial disputes remain uncertain, casting a shadow over the former couple’s once-shared success.
