Victoria Rose O’Callaghan, the estranged wife of rugby star Danny Cipriani, recently revealed that she turned down an offer from Love Island bosses to appear on the popular dating show. Despite the high-profile nature of her split from Cipriani, Victoria felt participating in the reality program would make a mockery of her situation.

After her separation from Danny Cipriani, Victoria was approached by Love Island producers to join the dating competition. During a candid Q&A session on social media, Victoria opened up about the offer. She explained, “I actually got approached to do it, not this series but another, but I said no because even though I’m technically single, I’m not divorced, so I think that would be a mockery.”

Victoria and Danny Cipriani ended their marriage in November 2023 after two years together. While they did not have children together, Victoria is a mother to two children from previous relationships, including her first child, Jade, whom she had at 14. Reflecting on the breakup, Victoria shared, “It was quite difficult and it’s still ongoing, not from a heartbreak point of view but for another thing. Things always happen to us unexpectedly and you have to find the lesson in the mess, and that is something I’ve been trying to find and I believe I have.”
