Washington, D.C. – In a stunning revelation, Elon Musk admitted to an alarming blunder—his aggressive budget cuts “accidentally” wiped out vital Ebola prevention efforts.
During a cabinet meeting with President Donald Trump on Wednesday, Musk casually acknowledged the oversight, claiming his rush to dismantle USAID led to the abrupt cancellation of critical disease prevention programs.
“We won’t be perfect, but when we make a mistake, we’ll fix it very quickly,” Musk stated, before confessing that his efficiency-driven cost-cutting spree unintentionally axed Ebola prevention initiatives.
After realizing the gravity of the error, Musk insisted the program was reinstated immediately with “no interruption.” However, his focus remains on slashing government spending at record speed.
“But we do need to move quickly if we are to achieve $1 trillion deficit reduction in financial year 2026,” he emphasized. “It requires saving $4 billion per day, every day, from now through the end of September. But we can do it, and we will do it.”
Ebola, a deadly infectious disease, spreads through direct contact with bodily fluids and has caused devastating outbreaks worldwide. USAID, the agency at the center of Musk’s cuts, plays a crucial role in global health and humanitarian efforts, employing around 10,000 staff, most of whom operate in crisis-stricken regions.
Musk’s latest revelation adds to the growing debate over his deep cuts to government agencies—leaving many wondering what other “oops” moments may still be uncovered.
