The tragic final moments of Matthew Perry, the beloved star of “Friends,” have been unveiled in recent court documents, bringing a somber end to the actor’s story. According to the documents, Perry’s last words were revealed as part of a plea agreement involving his personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine that led to Perry’s death.

In a detailed report, Iwamasa admitted to repeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, leading to the actor’s accidental overdose. The plea agreement disclosed that Perry’s final request was: “Shoot me up with a big one.” This revelation paints a heartbreaking picture of the actor’s struggle with substance abuse.

Perry, who had been open about his battles with addiction through his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” was found dead in his jacuzzi on October 28. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Perry’s death resulted from the “acute effects of ketamine.”

The Justice Department’s announcement last Thursday brought additional details to light, revealing that Iwamasa had been administering ketamine to Perry on a daily basis. On the day of his death, Iwamasa admitted to injecting Perry multiple times. The investigation also led to charges against several others involved in the case. Alleged drug dealer Jasveen Sangha, physicians Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, and Erik Fleming, who supplied ketamine to Iwamasa, are all facing legal consequences. Sangha faces a potential life sentence, while the others could face 10 to 25 years in prison.

Text messages between Plasencia and Chavez highlighted a disturbing disregard for Perry’s well-being, with Plasencia reportedly mocking Perry’s willingness to pay for ketamine. This callousness adds another layer of tragedy to the actor’s story.

In response to the developments, Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison, expressed the family’s grief and support for the legal process. “We were and still are heartbroken by Matthew’s death, but it has helped to know law enforcement has taken this case very seriously,” Morrison said. “We look forward to justice taking its course.”

This heartbreaking case sheds light on the serious issue of substance abuse and the impact of those who enable it. As the legal proceedings continue, the focus remains on seeking justice for Perry and raising awareness about the dangers of addiction.
