Marjorie Taylor Greene, the outspoken Republican congresswoman from Georgia, has ignited a storm of controversy with her recent claims about the 2020 election. On August 7, Greene took to social media, expressing intense outrage over alleged election fraud and calling for immediate accountability.
Greene’s fury is centered on new data emerging from the Georgia State Election Board, which she asserts could have dramatically changed the outcome of the election. She vehemently argues that the alleged fraud was substantial enough to overturn the results, which saw President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris secure all of Georgia’s electors.
Greene stated, “There must be accountability for the FRAUD that took place in GA during the 2020 election that illegally and fraudulently gave all of Georgia’s electors to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.” She emphasizes that the scale of alleged fraud exceeds the narrow vote margin that separated Biden and Trump in Georgia.
Former President Donald Trump lost the state by fewer than 12,000 votes, a narrow margin in an exceptionally contested election. Greene’s comments were prompted by Liz Harrington, a prominent Trump ally, who highlighted discrepancies uncovered by the Georgia Election Board.
According to Harrington, the Board’s investigation, labeled SEB2023-025, revealed troubling findings: 17,852 votes were counted without corresponding ballot images, 20,713 original votes were inexplicably produced by tabulators, and 3,930 duplicate votes were reportedly inserted through deliberate tampering.
Harrington asserted, “As I’ve said from the beginning, this cannot be ignored and there must be accountability.” She stressed the significance of the Georgia State Election Board’s forthcoming discussions on these issues, advocating for transparency and justice.
Greene shared this view, underscoring the seriousness of the allegations. “The Georgia Election Board has uncovered serious allegations of election fraud that greatly exceed the FEC margin of error,” she asserted.
