Emma Slater has requested to waive spousal support in her divorce from Sasha Farber, as revealed in court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
The Dancing With the Stars pro, aged 35, stated in the documents that she wishes to uphold a written agreement with Farber, aged 40, wherein neither party will receive support from the other. Slater emphasized in the filing that spousal support should be determined according to the terms outlined in their agreement.
The news of Slater and Farber’s separation broke in August 2022 after over four years of marriage. Sources disclosed to Us Weekly at the time that the couple had been living apart for several months, both opting not to wear their wedding rings as they navigated their newfound single lives.

Six months later, Slater filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split. In a subsequent episode of the “Viall Files” podcast, Slater shed light on the breakup, attributing it to differing desires regarding starting a family.
Slater confessed, “It’s really the kid thing. It’s interesting because I do want to have kids, I just don’t want to delay Sasha’s path in having kids because I know that he is ready for that.”
Despite their divorce proceedings, Slater and Farber continue to compete together on DWTS, maintaining a supportive and respectful dynamic. Slater emphasized their camaraderie, stating, “We support each other so much that I want the very best for Sasha.”
Addressing romance rumors with her DWTS season 32 partner Mauricio Umansky, Slater clarified that they are not dating, affirming their strong professional bond formed through hours of intensive dance practice.
As Slater navigates her personal and professional life amidst the divorce, she remains focused on maintaining a positive and supportive environment, both on and off the dance floor.
