Steele expressed shock at the gravity of the situation during a segment addressing Trump’s repeated assaults on the judiciary. He underscored the potential dangers arising from Trump’s inflammatory remarks and their impact on his devoted supporters. Emphasizing the unprecedented leniency granted to Trump, Steele highlighted the systemic damage inflicted on the legal system by the former president.

“It’s enormously dangerous,” Steele warned. “I am shocked that we have allowed this to get this far.”

Steele argued that Trump, despite facing a gag order related to attacks against a judge’s law clerk and another order linked to allegations of illegal efforts to overturn the 2020 election, has enjoyed an exceptional level of grace. The legal battles surrounding these orders raise questions about potential infringements on Trump’s free speech rights.

The political analyst stressed the need for the legal system to treat Trump no differently than it would anyone else making similar statements. He pointed out the challenges faced by the judicial system in dealing with Trump’s relentless behavior and concluded that incarceration might be the only effective solution.

“So, if he wants to continue in this vein, then use the system the way the system would be used against all of us on the show right now,” Steele asserted. “Because you know damn well that if any one of us, if we said half of what Donald Trump has said, we would not be on air tonight. We would be in a jail cell. We would be shut down.”

The proposal for Trump’s incarceration adds another layer to the ongoing legal saga surrounding the former president’s controversial remarks and actions, sparking debates about the limits of free speech in the face of potential threats to the judicial system.
