A recent report by Raw Story on December 6, 2023, Special Counsel Jack Smith has obtained what experts consider valuable evidence in the case involving fake electors in Wisconsin.

The disclosure follows the admission by 10 fake electors, settling in a civil trial, that President Joe Biden rightfully won the 2020 election.

Legal expert Ryan Goodman from Just Security predicts that Smith is already strategizing on how to incorporate this admission into his ongoing federal investigation into Donald Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

Goodman highlights key statements from the fake electors, acknowledging actions contingent on court victories and the improper use of certified documents to overturn the election.

Moreover, the electors claim they weren’t duly elected, forming the core of Smith’s case against Trump.

This development potentially puts figures like Ken Chesebro and Rudy Giuliani in what Goodman describes as deep trouble.

The expert questions why Wisconsin authorities, including the Attorney General and District Attorneys, haven’t initiated investigations into Chesebro and Giuliani for their alleged manipulation of the fake electors, which poses a threat to the electoral system’s integrity.

Wisconsin’s Attorney General, Josh Kaul, previously stated in 2022 that he awaits federal investigators’ actions before taking any steps, revealing the interconnected nature of state and federal investigations.

Goodman shares screen captures of text messages from some fake electors, revealing admissions that they didn’t expect their votes to count and that their documents weren’t valid unless courts ruled otherwise.

One message emphasizes the informal nature of their actions, stating, We met and cast ballots but it wasn’t official because it couldn’t be.

The most incriminating revelation, according to Goodman, is a text questioning the logic behind their actions: This is insane… if you received a favorable court ruling you could do it after. Who is coming up with this? Raising concerns about the motives behind attempts to challenge the election results.

As Smith advances his federal investigation, the admissions from the fake electors open new legal avenues, potentially exposing the depth of efforts to undermine the democratic process post the 2020 election.
