In an exclusive report by Fox News on Saturday, December 16, 2023, Peskov conveyed President Putin’s desire for a constructive dialogue with the United States. Speaking with NBC News on Friday, Peskov emphasized the importance of handling Russia with increased caution and addressing its concerns.

The Kremlin official refrained from directly naming President Biden, focusing instead on the need for collaboration with anyone recognizing the necessity of a cautious approach towards Russia. Peskov neither proposed nor endorsed any specific candidates for a potential presidential replacement.

Peskov criticized former President Trump’s assertion of resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in a day, deeming it ‘misguided’ due to the complexity of the situation. Expressing displeasure with the U.S., Peskov argued that financing Ukrainian defenses against ongoing Russian assaults was a futile expenditure, prolonging the conflict unnecessarily.

President Putin, addressing the nation this week, reiterated his commitment to continue the Ukraine war until his goals are achieved. During a year-end news conference, he offered rare insights into these objectives.

Responding to concerns among Russian citizens regarding a potential new mobilization, Putin, seeking reelection after nearly 24 years in office, rejected the necessity of a second wave of mobilizing reservists. He stated that approximately 617,000 Russian soldiers are presently in Ukraine, with about 244,000 troops mobilized to support the professional Russian military.

Putin emphasized that there’s no requirement for extra mobilization, citing a daily influx of 1,500 individuals joining the Russian army nationwide. As of Wednesday evening, his statement reported 486,000 soldiers enlisted in the Russian military. The Russian leader’s stance raises questions about the ongoing conflict’s trajectory and its implications on the international stage.
