Court Decision Halts Foreclosure

A recent hearing at the Shelby County court in Tennessee concluded that foreclosing on Graceland would cause “irreparable harm” to Riley Keough, who inherited the estate after her mother, Lisa Marie Presley’s death in January 2023. The ruling came after Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC claimed ownership of the property, asserting that Lisa Marie had used Graceland as collateral for a $3.8 million loan she did not repay before her passing. Riley Keough contested these claims, labeling the note and deed as “fraudulent and unenforceable” in her lawsuit.

Dispute Over Loan Validity

Riley Keough’s lawsuit asserts that her mother never borrowed money from Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC, and questions the legitimacy of the company itself. “On information and belief, Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC is not a real entity,” the lawsuit states, suggesting that it was created to defraud the heirs of Lisa Marie Presley or any potential buyers of Graceland at a non-judicial sale.

Judicial Intervention Delays Auction

Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins ruled that the foreclosure auction must be postponed until the court determines the rightful ownership of Graceland. He emphasized that under Tennessee law, the estate is considered unique, and its loss would constitute irreparable harm. Priscilla Presley, Elvis’s ex-wife and Lisa Marie’s mother, also voiced her concerns, calling the foreclosure attempt a scam on social media.

Graceland’s Continued Legacy

Graceland, located in Memphis, Tennessee, remains a major tourist attraction as the former home of Elvis Presley until his death in 1977. The estate is not only a historical site but also a museum featuring Elvis’s iconic outfits, vintage cars, and his private jet named after his daughter, Lisa Marie. Court documents from 2022 revealed that Lisa Marie Presley earned a substantial annual income from the estate.

Following Lisa Marie’s death, a legal battle over her estate ensued between Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough. Ultimately, Riley Keough, known for her role in ‘Daisy Jones and the Six,’ emerged as the sole trustee of her mother’s assets, solidifying her control over Graceland.
