Hollywood actor Adam Brody recently caused a stir at a soft-play venue in Glasgow, leaving many parents delighted and star-struck as he spent quality time with his children. The 44-year-old actor is in Scotland supporting his wife, Leighton Meester, who is filming the second season of the Apple TV period drama The Buccaneers. Best known for his roles in The O.C. and the Netflix series Nobody Wants This, Brody’s appearance took parents by surprise at Inflata Nation in Kinning Park.
One particularly excited mother, Jemma McMillan, was celebrating her child’s birthday at the venue when she spotted Brody. Overwhelmed by the encounter, she revealed that she had spent nearly an hour debating whether it was truly him. Her uncertainty quickly vanished when she noticed he was preparing to leave, prompting her to seize the opportunity for a photograph. “I can’t miss the opportunity for a pic!” she exclaimed, describing the actor as “lovely, very down to earth, and playful with his kids.”
While Adam Brody was entertaining his children, the filming of Leighton Meester’s latest project was taking place around Glasgow’s Mitchell Library, where crews utilized historic street signs and sets, as well as horses and carriages. The series follows a group of young women in 1870s America sent to London in search of husbands and titles. The cast also includes Christina Hendricks, who recently shared a glimpse of her period costume while reprising her role as Patricia “Patti” St. George.
Adam and Leighton, who met in 2010 while working together, married four years later. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Arlo, soon after. Five years later, they announced the arrival of their second child. Speaking during Hold the Phone TV’s The Fun Time Boys Game Night Spectacular on Twitch, Adam mentioned, “I have a new kid. Since last I played, I have a new kid,” adding that his son is “a dream boy.”
Leighton Meester has shared her insights into motherhood, noting that she still relates to her character Angie D’Amato from Single Parents, despite being a mother herself. In an interview with Glamour magazine, she reflected, “Nobody can tell you what parenthood is going to be like. You think you know, and then it’s just so hard.” Expressing gratitude for the support she receives, she emphasized the emotional challenges of parenting, stating, “In a really tender way, Single Parents explores how parenting is an emotional roller coaster.”
