President Joe Biden is under increased scrutiny as new evidence reveals a previously undisclosed meeting with Ye Jianming, the chairman of Chinese energy giant CEFC, in 2017. According to a closed-door interview transcript obtained by Fox News Digital, Rob Walker, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, informed House investigators that the meeting occurred at the Four Seasons hotel in Washington D.C.

Walker stated that Joe Biden attended the lunch meeting, which aimed to explore collaboration with CEFC in the U.S. energy sector. The revelation contradicts Biden’s previous claims of no involvement or knowledge of his son’s business affairs and raises questions about potential conflicts of interest and national security risks during his presidency.

The House Oversight Committee, leading the impeachment inquiry against Biden, confirmed the meeting and asserted that Biden interacted with numerous foreign nationals funneling money to Hunter Biden, including CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming. The committee claims evidence of millions of dollars transferred to Hunter Biden and associates from foreign entities, some of which allegedly reached Joe Biden’s brother, Jim Biden.

The committee has subpoenaed Tony Bobulinski, another former business partner of Hunter Biden, who accused Joe Biden of awareness and involvement in the CEFC deal. Bobulinski is set to testify before the committee and provide documents that could substantiate his claims.

Joe Biden has denied any wrongdoing, dismissing the allegations as a “smear campaign” orchestrated by political opponents. He refuses to cooperate with the congressional investigation, labeling it a “partisan witch hunt” distracting from urgent national issues.

The impeachment inquiry, initiated by House Republicans, accuses Biden of abusing power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate his political rival and obstructing justice by firing a U.S. attorney overseeing the Hunter Biden tax investigation. The inquiry aims to conclude by the end of February, with a potential vote on articles of impeachment in early March.

If the House votes to impeach, the Senate will conduct a trial to determine whether to convict and remove Biden from office. The impeachment process holds implications for U.S.-China relations, with analysts debating its impact on credibility and diplomatic efforts between the two nations. Some warn of potential damage to Biden’s standing, while others see an opportunity for dialogue and cooperation amid shared challenges.
