Jason Kelce, ESPN analyst and former Philadelphia Eagles center, made headlines after confronting a Penn State fan who directed a homophobic slur at his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The incident unfolded ahead of Penn State’s highly anticipated matchup against Ohio State at Beaver Stadium.

As Jason walked through the crowd, a fan could be heard yelling, “Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a fa— for dating Taylor Swift?” Upon hearing the derogatory comment, Jason appeared to approach the fan and grabbed the individual’s phone, which he then threw to the ground. A video of the altercation quickly circulated online, sparking discussion and receiving widespread support from fans and players alike for Jason’s reaction to the inappropriate comment.

Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift became an unexpected power couple in the sports and entertainment worlds when they began dating in 2023. Travis initially revealed his interest on his podcast, New Heights, sharing that he attempted to pass Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number at her Kansas City concert. Since then, Swift has become a fixture at NFL games, including the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory, where she cheered for Travis. Her presence has garnered positive reactions from NFL players, with 72.5 percent of those polled by The Athletic expressing that her interest in football benefits the league.

Jason, who is no stranger to NFL fandom, was in State College to appear on ESPN’s College GameDay, which highlighted the high-stakes showdown between Penn State and Ohio State.
