As Election Day nears, the push to drive voter turnout is intensifying across the U.S., particularly in key battleground states such as Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. In a bold show of support, Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has thrown her star power behind Kamala Harris, dedicating her time to canvass in Las Vegas and meet with local citizens, encouraging voter participation in this critical election.

The two-time Oscar winner arrived in Las Vegas, joining Harris’s team on the ground, kicking off her day by launching a canvassing event at the campaign field office. There, she met with Nevada’s Democratic regional organizing director Craig Bakerjian, along with a group of volunteers committed to the cause. The group spent the day knocking on doors in heavily populated neighborhoods, sharing the campaign’s message and motivating voters to make a plan to vote.

Lawrence’s commitment extended beyond canvassing as she took part in community conversations with state leaders and business owners. At Mothership Coffee Roasters, she joined a luncheon with Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen and Juanny Romero, CEO of Mothership. The gathering included first-time voters, local activists, and small business owners, sparking conversations on voter engagement, bipartisan collaboration, and the issues currently impacting Nevada residents.

Lawrence recently made headlines by openly endorsing the Harris-Walz ticket for the White House. In an interview, she expressed her belief in Harris’s dedication to protecting reproductive rights, stating, “That’s the most important thing, to not let someone into the White House who is going to ban abortion.” Pregnant with her second child, Lawrence continues her advocacy in the realm of reproductive health, producing the documentary Zurawski v Texas, which tells the stories of women affected by Texas abortion restrictions in 2023.

This isn’t the first time Lawrence has used her platform for social causes. Alongside her latest project, Zurawski v Texas, she also co-produced Bread and Roses, a powerful Apple Original documentary that highlights the struggles of Afghan women living under Taliban rule. As Election Day approaches, her participation in the Harris campaign adds an influential voice to the Democrats’ drive to boost turnout and inspire voters to engage in shaping the future of their communities and the nation.
