John Cena, the wrestling legend currently making waves in WWE, has revealed his departure plans from the company. Cena’s return to WWE has been a significant boost for the company, but it appears that his stint will be relatively short-lived.
Cena initiated talks with WWE about his comeback during the SAG-AFTRA Strike, which created a unique opportunity for his return. Notably, WWE does not have a union for its talent.
During a press conference following WWE Fastlane, Cena was asked if he would return to Hollywood once the Strike concludes. He confirmed this possibility, citing an ongoing project that urgently needs to get back on track.
“They do, they do. I’ve made it perfectly clear that you can’t do both due to liability insurance. If I were to attempt both, it would be selfish because it could jeopardize a lot of people’s jobs if something happened to me,” Cena stated. “So, yes, I had to halt the project I was working on. Unfortunately, I can’t even disclose details about the project due to the strike. We’re right in the thick of it. So, as soon as I can resume work, I will. I don’t have control over the situation, so I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that they can work it out. In the meantime, I returned to WWE to support my family.”
The 16-time World Champion continued, “This isn’t the final chapter, but the final chapter is on the horizon.” While fans have enjoyed Cena’s return, it’s clear that his WWE comeback has an expiration date.
In last night’s WWE Fastlane event, John Cena and LA Knight joined forces to defeat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, creating yet another memorable moment in his storied career.
Cena’s impending departure leaves WWE fans wondering when they’ll have to bid farewell to their beloved superstar.
