WASHINGTON (AP) — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) issued a strong warning in the wake of former President Trump’s decisive win in New Hampshire, underscoring that the Republican Party’s loyalty extends beyond Trump’s personality to include his policies.

According to a report by The Hill on Wednesday, January 24, Greene stated that any Republican unwilling to align with these policies could face expulsion from the party.

Speaking to NBC News’s Vaughn Hillyard, Greene emphasized the significance of Trump’s triumph over Nikki Haley in New Hampshire, a result seen as pivotal for Haley’s candidacy. Calls for the former South Carolina governor to exit the race have intensified following Trump’s commanding victory.

As President Biden secured the Democratic primary with a write-in campaign, the 2024 presidential race seems to be shaping up as a rematch between the 2020 nominees.

Greene’s warning echoes sentiments expressed by Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel, who stressed the necessity for party unity around Trump in light of the Iowa and New Hampshire results.

Several of Trump’s former 2024 rivals, including Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Vivek Ramaswamy, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, have rallied alongside the ex-president in New Hampshire, indicating a growing alignment within the party.

Known for her steadfast support for Trump, Greene has taken steps to quell dissent within the party. She labeled House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good (R-Va.), who supported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) against Trump, a “MAGA traitor” and endorsed Good’s primary opponent, Virginia state Sen. John McGuire (R).

In response, McGuire has urged Republicans to unite behind the Trump campaign, emphasizing it as the sole means to counteract what he perceives as “Marxist, freedom-crushing policies.”
