Former reality TV star and one-time White House aide, Omarosa Manigault Newman, has recently spoken out about what she perceives as a troubling pattern of former President Donald Trump using derogatory language against women of color. In a recent interview, she highlighted Trump’s inflammatory comments about New York Attorney General Letitia James and suggested that this was part of a longstanding trend. Newman, a vocal critic of Trump who briefly served as a White House adviser in 2017, shared her perspective on Trump’s recent remarks during his civil fraud trial in New York.
“He saves the worst insults for women of color, and he tries to veil his racist remarks in some kind of hedging,” Newman said during the interview. Trump had referred to the case as the “single greatest witch hunt of all time” and had labeled Letitia James, who filed a $250 million fraud lawsuit against him, as “racist” and a “horror show.”
Newman went on to explain that Trump’s insults towards women of color were primarily about intimidation. “He has saved his worst insults and his biggest vitriol for women of color.” She pointed to instances where he referred to James as “Letitia Peekaboo James,” called Vice President Kamala Harris a “monster,” and labeled Newman herself as a “dog.” According to Newman, this behavior demonstrated a recurring pattern in Trump’s actions.

During the interview, Newman did not hold back in criticizing Trump’s tactics, emphasizing the need for the former president to be held accountable for his actions. She stated, “He is facing for the first time accountability for his actions, and he can call people as many names as he wants, but it is time for him to face the music, and he must pay, and he will—at the hands of a Black woman.” The $250 million fraud lawsuit has clearly rattled Trump, leading to a strong response from him in the civil case.
Trump, who is considered the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, received a stern message from Newman. “He needs to look in the mirror,” she said during the interview. As of now, representatives for Trump have not responded to Newman’s recent comments. With elections approaching, allegations of discriminatory language and behavior continue to be a subject of discussion and scrutiny.
