Donald Trump is ramping up his immigration crackdown, setting the stage for a massive travel ban that could block people from 43 countries from entering the United States. In a dramatic move, the former and possibly future US president has also issued a stark 60-day warning to several nations—fix your policies or face the consequences.
The proposed ban, which has yet to receive full approval, divides affected countries into three categories: outright travel bans, severe visa restrictions, and those given a short window to comply with US demands. Nations with ties to Russia, conflict-heavy regions, and Muslim-majority countries appear to be the primary targets.

Who’s on the List?
The proposed restrictions would completely ban travelers from countries such as Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria, and Libya, while others, including Russia, Pakistan, and Myanmar, would see sharp visa restrictions. Meanwhile, countries like Angola, Zimbabwe, and St. Lucia have 60 days to resolve US concerns before facing similar restrictions.
This sweeping policy follows Trump’s recent social media post on Truth Social, where he claimed to have had a “good” conversation with Vladimir Putin about a potential peace deal in Ukraine. However, the ban disproportionately impacts nations that align with Russia or are embroiled in regional instability.
While this new immigration push has yet to be fully signed into action, it’s already sparking controversy worldwide. If implemented, millions of people could be locked out of the United States, leaving students, workers, and tourists scrambling for alternatives.
