Rachel Lindsay, known for her journey on “The Bachelorette,” has opened up about the challenges in her marriage to Bryan Abasolo. In recently filed court documents obtained by Life & Style, Lindsay candidly admitted that she and Abasolo spent minimal time together during their brief union.
Contrary to portrayals, Lindsay stated, “Our marital standard of living was nowhere near as glamorous as Bryan portrays it to be. In fact, we rarely saw each other or even lived together during our brief marriage.” This revelation comes as Abasolo, 44, sought spousal support and financial assistance for divorce-related expenses.
The couple, who got engaged during Season 13 of “The Bachelorette,” faced geographical challenges early on. Abasolo left his chiropractic practice in Florida to pursue opportunities in Los Angeles, aiming to establish himself in Hollywood. Lindsay, meanwhile, continued her legal career in Dallas and later transitioned to media work, including radio, podcasts, and television.
Their differing career paths often kept them apart, with Lindsay frequently traveling for work engagements. Even after moving to Miami in 2018 for Abasolo’s business venture, Lindsay noted that they “rarely went out together and did not even go on monthly dates.”
Financially, Lindsay disclosed that they managed expenses separately without a joint account, and most of their trips were either sponsored or shared expenses for accommodations, with Lindsay occasionally covering Abasolo’s airfare.
Lindsay emphasized financial disparities in her court response, stating her average monthly cash flow is significantly higher than Abasolo’s, contrary to his beliefs about her financial standing. She expressed concern over the financial burden of Abasolo’s requested legal fees, highlighting that meeting his demands would strain her own resources.
The couple’s marriage, which began in August 2019, faced challenges that eventually led to Abasolo filing for divorce in January after less than five years together. Lindsay, reportedly regretful about not securing a prenuptial agreement, acknowledged in retrospect that she had initially desired one, but Abasolo was resistant.
As their divorce proceedings unfold, Lindsay’s candid disclosures offer a glimpse into the complexities that contributed to the end of their relationship, shedding light on the personal and financial dynamics behind their public personas.
