Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s family just got a little bit more star-studded. Following a playful mention by Taylor Swift of the couple’s children as her “godkids,” Shawn Levy, the director of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” has revealed he’s the godfather to the stars’ youngest child, Olin.
In a recent interview with Variety, Levy, who has collaborated with Reynolds on several projects including “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project,” shared his delight in being part of the family’s lives. “Little by little, all of the Reynoldses started being a part of the movie, including their youngest,” Levy said. “As the proud godfather of Olin, that might be my favorite voice cameo.”
Olin, the fourth child of Reynolds and Lively, was born in February 2023. Levy’s revelation comes just weeks after Swift’s social media post that affectionately referred to Reynolds and Lively’s children as her “godkids.”
In the latest R-rated superhero film, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Lively and the couple’s four children—James, Inez, Betty, and Olin—make brief appearances. Reynolds’ connection to the “Deadpool” franchise is so profound that he even mentioned Olin’s name at the New York City premiere of the film last month. “I want to start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who is here,” Reynolds said. “I want to thank my kids — James, Inez, Betty, Olin — who are here. I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing — that is, in the contents of this movie — that happens in your wondrous life.”
Levy’s role as Olin’s godfather adds another layer to the tight-knit relationships within the entertainment industry surrounding Reynolds and Lively. However, Levy did not disclose if he holds the same title for the couple’s other children.
This heartfelt connection underscores the deep bonds formed in Hollywood and highlights the special relationships between these famous families.
