Groundbreaking research has uncovered a startling revelation: the spike protein from COVID-19 vaccines may persist in the body for years, potentially triggering brain fog, immune dysfunction, and even reactivating dormant viruses.
A team of Yale University scientists detected spike protein in the blood of at least one vaccinated individual an astonishing 709 days post-vaccination—far longer than previously believed possible. This discovery, published on the medRxiv preprint server, has fueled concerns that many long COVID cases might actually be post-vaccination syndrome (PVS), a condition linked to the prolonged presence of the spike protein.
Post-Vaccine Syndrome or Long COVID?
The study found that individuals suffering from PVS—many of whom had never contracted COVID-19—had significantly higher levels of spike protein in their blood. These individuals reported symptoms eerily similar to long COVID, including brain fog, dizziness, and tinnitus. The spike protein was found in some participants anywhere from 26 to 709 days post-vaccination.
Akiko Iwasaki, Ph.D., one of the lead authors and a Yale School of Medicine professor, expressed surprise at the spike protein’s persistence.
“We don’t know if the level of spike protein is directly causing the chronic symptoms,” she told Yale News, “but it could be one mechanism underlying this syndrome.”
A Troubling Immune Response
Researchers also noted that vaccinated individuals exhibited signs of immune system exhaustion, autoimmune disorders, and reactivation of dormant viruses such as Epstein-Barr. Immunologist Jessica Rose, Ph.D., pointed out that the spike protein’s coding material, delivered via lipid nanoparticles, allows it to travel anywhere in the body via the bloodstream.
“There is no way to predict which and how many cells may be producing spike protein long-term,” Rose warned.
Christof Plothe, D.O., a World Council for Health steering committee member, went further, suggesting that mRNA vaccines essentially turn recipients into “mini-factories” producing one of the most pathogenic proteins known to science.
“We still don’t know how long this production might continue,” Plothe said. “There’s a high probability that the genetic instructions could have integrated into the human genome, making the effects potentially life-long—or even heritable.”
The Medical Blind Spot: Public Health’s Silence on PVS
Despite the growing body of evidence, public health authorities have yet to formally recognize PVS as a legitimate condition. Unlike long COVID, which has received significant funding and research, vaccine-related injuries remain largely ignored.
The Yale study examined 42 individuals diagnosed with PVS, 22 without the condition, 134 long COVID sufferers, and 134 vaccinated individuals in good health. The findings showed that those with PVS or long COVID had higher levels of autoimmune-related antigens and experienced greater rates of depression, anxiety, fatigue, and sleep disturbances. They also exhibited increased reactivation of latent viruses and immune cell exhaustion.
Jessica Rose believes the long COVID narrative is being used to mask the true extent of vaccine-related injuries.
“I believe long COVID is a cover-up for latent viral infection re-emergence due to the effects of the COVID-19 injectable products,” she stated. She also pointed out that the lingering presence of spike proteins could explain why some vaccinated individuals develop severe adverse effects even a year or more after receiving the shot.
Media Suppression? The Fight to Control the Narrative
Investigative journalist Paul D. Thacker has documented multiple instances where media outlets downplayed or outright denied any link between spike proteins and vaccine injuries. He highlighted fact-checks by Reuters, the Associated Press, and Politifact that dismissed concerns over long-term vaccine effects.
“Fact-checkers check narratives, not facts,” Thacker wrote.
He also pointed out that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) allocated $1.6 billion to study long COVID while neglecting vaccine injuries, leading some patient advocates to hide their vaccine-related symptoms.
One particularly tragic case is that of Hollywood screenwriter Heidi Ferrer, who battled long COVID symptoms for 13 months before taking her own life. A private video obtained by Thacker showed her husband revealing that her condition worsened after receiving the Moderna vaccine.
Mounting Evidence: Are We on the Brink of a Major Shift?
As more studies emerge, the scientific community is beginning to reassess mRNA technology. Even Yale’s Iwasaki, who once supported vaccine mandates, now acknowledges that the new findings warrant further investigation.
“The evidence is staggeringly compelling and has been for a very long time,” said Rose.
With an increasing number of countries and U.S. states reconsidering mRNA vaccines, and several scientific organizations calling for a moratorium, Plothe believes the writing is on the wall.
“The evidence is mounting, and it’s pointing to an urgent need for a moratorium on mRNA technology,” he said.
