Effort to withstand Britain’s housing challenges, a significant number of London residents are choosing to endure the storm within the capital rather than seeking more budget-friendly housing options elsewhere.
As reported by broker Hamptons International, Londoners allocated approximately £29 billion ($37 billion) toward homes located outside the capital this year. This figure reflects a nearly one-third decrease compared to 2022. Affordability constraints have contributed to a rise in the rate of Londoners moving out over the past 12 months. However, the total number of homes purchased outside the capital has declined to just over 69,000, marking the lowest figure in nine years.
