Ali Abulaban, known as Jinnkid to his nearly one million TikTok followers, became famous for his comedic skits and impressions. However, his online persona contrasted starkly with the dark reality of his personal life. Abulaban now faces life in prison after being convicted on two counts of first-degree murder.

A Marriage in Turmoil

The tragic events stemmed from a deteriorating marriage. Ana had asked Ali to leave their apartment, leading him to move into a hotel. Despite the separation, Ali’s jealousy and paranoia only intensified. Prosecutors revealed that he stalked Ana obsessively, driven by an unfounded belief that she was unfaithful.

Stalking and Surveillance

Ali secretly installed a listening device on their five-year-old daughter’s iPad, using it to monitor Ana’s conversations at home. On October 21, 2021, he overheard a conversation between Ana and Rayburn Barron that convinced him of her infidelity. In a fit of rage, he rushed to the apartment armed with a loaded gun.

The Fatal Confrontation

Upon arriving, Ali shot Rayburn Barron three times and struck Ana in the head, killing them both instantly. Immediately after the murders, Ali called his mother, Dalal Warra, and confessed to the crime. This confession became a pivotal point in the prosecution’s case.

A Gripping Trial

The trial began in April 2024, with Ali admitting to physical abuse and drug use. He broke down multiple times as the reality of his actions set in. Despite the defense’s argument that the murders were crimes of passion, the jury was convinced by the prosecution’s narrative of premeditated and intentional killing. After five days of deliberation, the jury found Ali guilty of first-degree murder.

Family Torn Apart

Dalal Warra’s testimony added a deeply human element to the trial. She recounted the distraught phone call from her son moments after the murders. Ali and Ana had been together for seven years and had a child, who is now left without both parents.

Awaiting Sentencing

Ali Abulaban is scheduled to be sentenced on June 28, 2024, facing a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. This tragic case underscores the destructive power of jealousy and the devastating impact it can have on families.
