Tragic Incident: 5-Year-Old Dies After Being Found Unresponsive in Pool

Bloomington, Ind. – A heartbreaking incident has struck the Bloomington community as Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy found unresponsive in a pool on Saturday evening.

Authorities reported that around 7:15 p.m., deputies responded to an emergency call at the Woodland Springs Pool located in the 3100 block of South Leonard Springs Road. Upon arrival, they found firefighters and medics diligently performing CPR on the young child.

The boy was swiftly transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where, tragically, he was pronounced dead.

Detectives at the scene have interviewed witnesses and, at this stage, do not suspect any criminal activity. However, the investigation is ongoing to fully understand the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
