Political science expert Barbara Walter, from the University of California at San Diego, pointed out that while Donald Trump may not be on the same level as Hitler, he is employing a comparable playbook. Speaking on MSNBC’s Ayman, Walter discussed Trump’s behavior, particularly his desire to be a dictator from day one.
This is classic wannabe dictator behavior. We see this again and again. People who crave power, especially those who revel in it, often openly reveal their intentions, noted Walter. Trump’s entire playbook revolves around identifying and exploiting weaknesses, and he has been remarkably successful at it.
Walter then drew a parallel to Hitler, emphasizing that Trump’s approach mirrors the infamous dictator’s strategy. I don’t equate Trump to Hitler, but he is using a similar playbook. Hitler explicitly outlined his intentions to Germany and Europe, yet many dismissed it. Trump, in a similar fashion, communicates his plans, and there’s a pattern here, she added. It’s about openly stating what you intend to do, even if people doubt or underestimate you. That’s the parallel we’re witnessing.
