Acting Chief of Police Pamela A. Smith addressed the media at the scene, stating, “At approximately 9:50 pm tonight, fifth district officers responded to sounds of gunshots near the intersection of 14th Street and Saratoga Avenue. When they arrived, officers located three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene, a third was transported to an area hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Chief Smith expressed her concern about the recurring trend of disputes escalating into firearm-related incidents and urged for greater efforts to remove guns from the streets.

Locals reported hearing nearly 100 gunshots fired in three separate incidents within a ten-minute span. The police have requested assistance from the community in locating a gray SUV with three individuals believed to be connected to the shooting.

One resident described the ordeal as sounding like a “war zone” when the shots rang out.

As of now, the police have not provided any details regarding the suspects or a potential motive behind the tragic incident.
