Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has joined the online discussion surrounding the red-spotted hands of former President Donald Trump, according to a report by Newsweek on January 19, 2024.
The speculation emerged after Trump’s appearance at Trump Tower in New York on January 16, where he raised his right hand, revealing red marks. Unsubstantiated rumors circulated, with Democrat political consultant James Carville suggesting, during a livestream, that the marks might be sores instead of cuts, speculating about a potential medical condition like secondary syphilis.
Newsweek reached out to Trump’s campaign staff for clarification but received no response. Carville claimed that medical professionals suggested hand sores could be indicative of secondary syphilis, as noted by the CDC, which often manifests as a rash on various body areas, including the palms and soles.
However, Alex Jones countered these claims, attributing the marks to a “golfer’s rash” that he claims to have experienced frequently from playing golf. He highlighted Trump’s intense golf routine, alleging up to two complete 18-hole rounds daily.
Business Insider sought clarity on the matter, consulting dermatologists who proposed potential reasons for the marks, including dry skin, lime juice exposure, golf blisters, or an unidentified cause. Dr. Joshua Zeichner, an associate professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, emphasized that hand rashes can have various origins.
Despite Trump’s well-known passion for golf, the accuracy of Jones’ explanation remains uncertain. Anti-Trump voices on social media have consistently questioned the former president’s health, including cognitive decline, without concrete evidence supporting these claims.
Jones staunchly defended Trump, dismissing the speculation as desperation and attributing the marks to Trump’s extensive golfing routine. Known for his controversial perspectives, Jones framed his involvement not only as defending Trump but standing up for what he considers reality, expressing frustration with what he sees as desperation from those scrutinizing Trump’s health.
As the debate continues, the red-spotted hands of Donald Trump have become an unexpected focal point. Despite the controversy, there is no consensus on the nature of the red spots, leaving room for speculation and conjecture.
