A shocking incident reported by Fox News on December 24, 2023, a 53-year-old father of three, Donnie Smith, lost his life after a vicious attack by three teenagers outside a Kroger grocery store in Columbus, Ohio.
Smith was at the store with friends on December 6 at 7 p.m. when the three young men, causing trouble inside, confronted him. Despite being asked to leave by security, they followed Smith and his friends, launching a brutal assault.
Smith, knocked unconscious with severe head injuries, was hospitalized in critical condition for two weeks before succumbing to his injuries. Survived by his wife and three children, the tragic incident left a community in mourning.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the assailants, Dionta Hughes (18), Jamarion Evans-Bennett (19), and Jayden Agee (17), seemed to revel in causing harm, laughing during the assault. The suspects fled in a crimson car but were later apprehended by authorities.
Charged with murder, felonious assault, homicide, and robbery, Hughes and Evans-Bennett had their photos released. Agee, being a minor, was not pictured.
