In a shocking incident that unfolded at a Costco parking lot in Industry on November 26, 2023, two brothers, 38-year-old David Morrison and 34-year-old Andrew Morrison, were apprehended for allegedly snatching a woman’s purse and subjecting her to a brutal assault as they made their getaway.
The distressing episode, which occurred over 50 yards in the Costco parking lot, prompted swift action from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives, resulting in the arrest of the Morrison brothers on December 28 in Diamond Bar, approximately eight miles from the crime scene.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly attempted to retrieve her purse when the Morrison brothers forcefully seized it. In the ensuing struggle, she endured repeated facial blows and was ultimately dragged by the suspects’ getaway vehicle.

A press release from the sheriff’s office described the victim as being “punched repeatedly in the face while being dragged by the suspect’s getaway vehicle,” resulting in multiple facial injuries and head trauma that necessitated immediate medical attention.
The Morrison brothers, now facing charges of robbery, were booked into the Industry Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $500,000. Detectives are actively investigating to ascertain if the brothers were involved in similar incidents.
Crucial evidence, including personal belongings belonging to the victim, was discovered during a search at the arrest location, according to the press release.
Donald Ward, a friend of the victim, spoke to the media after the incident, expressing gratitude that she survived the violent attack. Ward assisted her in canceling stolen credit cards and retrieving her car from the Costco parking lot. He emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and aware of one’s surroundings, even when in the company of others.
“(The victim) was with two other friends, and that still didn’t help, so just be watching, unfortunately, for bad people who want to take advantage of you,” Ward warned.
