Representative Russell Fry, R-S.C., criticized President Joe Biden’s recent speech in Columbia, South Carolina, branding him as the “most divisive president” of our time. The remarks came in response to Biden’s attempt to undermine former President Donald Trump and his supporters, accusing them of spreading falsehoods about the 2020 election, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the nation’s economy.
During his speech, Biden not only criticized Trump but accused him of attempting to “rewrite history” and “undermine the rule of law” by contesting the election results and inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Biden also laid blame on Trump for the surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths, citing a failure to act and downplaying the threat. Additionally, Biden claimed that Trump’s policies disproportionately favored the wealthy and well-connected while harming working families.
Asserting his commitment to uniting the nation, Biden highlighted his administration’s accomplishments, including the passage of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, expanding vaccine distribution, job creation, and infrastructure rebuilding.
Nevertheless, Rep. Fry, representing South Carolina’s 3rd congressional district, expressed strong disapproval of Biden’s rhetoric. Appearing on Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance” shortly after the speech, Fry denounced Biden’s words as “divisive” and “dishonest.” Fry criticized Biden for attacking Trump and his supporters, a significant segment of the American population, and accused the president of being out of touch with the nation’s realities.
Fry went on to highlight what he perceived as Biden’s shortcomings, stating that the president was incompetent in handling crucial issues such as border security, inflation, foreign policy, and the protection of constitutional rights. According to Fry, Biden’s declining approval ratings reflected a growing awareness among the American people of his polarizing impact and perceived harm to the nation.
Expressing optimism for the future, Fry anticipated a Republican resurgence in the upcoming elections. He confidently predicted that the Republicans would regain control of the House and the Senate in 2022, with a further goal of retaking the White House in 2024. Fry expressed hope that former President Trump would lead the way for the Republican Party and the conservative movement, affirming his pride in being a “MAGA Republican” and a staunch supporter of President Trump.
