former ESPN sportscaster revealed that his wife fell asleep at the wheel, leading to a harrowing crash that resulted in him being ejected from their RV onto a bustling California freeway on Tuesday. Cordell Patrick recounted the incident, stating that they were en route to their residence in Valencia on the 14 Freeway when he unfastened his seatbelt to use the RV’s restroom. It was at this moment that he observed his wife had succumbed to sleep, and the vehicle was veering towards the median at an approximate speed of 60 miles per hour.

“I tried grabbing the steering wheel, but before I could grab it we already had impact,” Patrick recounted to KTLA. The impact propelled him out of the driver’s side window, catapulting him over the central divide and into oncoming traffic, covering a distance of around 170 feet. Patrick, gripped by the fear of an imminent collision with a vehicle, contemplated the possibility of his impending demise, thinking, “I’ll be dead shortly.” Despite suffering multiple broken bones and sustaining road rash on 60 percent of his body, Patrick miraculously survived the ordeal, attributing his survival to what he termed as “divine intervention.”
