Nearly a decade after enduring profound personal loss, country music star Rory Feek is embarking on a new chapter in his life. Feek has remarried, tying the knot with Rebecca, his daughter Indiana’s teacher, in a heartfelt Montana ceremony on July 14.
The wedding marks a new beginning for Feek, who lost his first wife and musical partner, Joey Feek, to cervical cancer in 2016. Rory Feek, celebrated for his Grammy-winning 2017 album “Hymns,” shared the joyous news on his blog titled “The Wedding Singer,” detailing the emotional journey leading up to the nuptials.
Feek had previously mentioned his relationship with Rebecca, but he was cautious about publicly discussing it with Indiana, their 10-year-old daughter, who knew Rebecca as “Miss Rebecca,” her teacher and family friend.
In his blog, Feek explained the delicate nature of introducing Rebecca into Indiana’s life. “Her love for her Mama is so great and so big in her life,” Feek noted. “Neither Rebecca nor I wanted to hurt that in any way. So, we waited to see if Indiana would understand that Rebecca could be more than just a friend.”

By March, Indiana had come to terms with the new dynamics, even encouraging Rebecca to marry her father. Feek shared a touching moment when Indiana expressed her wish for Rebecca to become her new mother, leading Feek to agree with tears of joy.
Rory and Joey Feek, known professionally as the country-bluegrass duo Joey + Rory, enjoyed success with seven studio albums, including “His and Hers” and “Made to Last.” Feek, who also has two daughters from his previous marriage to Tamara Gilmer, has yet to collaborate musically with Rebecca.
At the wedding, Feek performed a new song titled “I Do,” dedicated to Rebecca. He described the song as a symbol of how “a beautiful past meets an even more beautiful present.” The most poignant moment of the ceremony was when Indiana embraced her new role as a daughter and Rebecca welcomed the role of mother.
“And we became a family,” Feek wrote, celebrating this new chapter with a renewed sense of hope and happiness.
