Blake Lively, the star of “It Ends with Us,” has made headlines for her unique middle name, Ellender, and her amusing comparison to a beloved “Harry Potter” character.
During an interview with MTV UK, Lively and her co-star Isabela Ferrer discussed Lively’s full name. When Ferrer struggled to guess her middle name, Lively eventually revealed it, leading to a light-hearted moment. “What? Like, what?” Lively joked about her middle name, further adding, “I’m not Dumbledore, it’s Ellender. Dumbledore, honestly, [is] probably a better option.”
The actress admitted she has had mixed feelings about her middle name. “It’s not a name. My mom, I think, made it up by accident,” Lively said, expressing her confusion and initial dislike for it. Despite this, she has warmed up to the name, thanks to her husband, Ryan Reynolds, who finds it charming. “He’s like, ‘It sounds like lavender,’ and I was like, ‘Ooh,’” Lively revealed.
Lively and Reynolds, who welcomed their fourth child, a boy named Olin, in February, have a history of choosing unique names for their children. Their other children are named James, Inez, and Betty—names famously mentioned in Taylor Swift’s 2020 album, “Folklore.” Reynolds humorously noted that they often wait for Swift to reveal their children’s names, jokingly referring to it in a May appearance on “Today.”
The playful comparison and Lively’s candid remarks about her middle name have certainly caught the public’s attention, adding another charming layer to her already well-loved persona.
