Dressed in Ali G’s signature fake goatee, beanie hat, and dark glasses, Baron Cohen opened the debate with a playful jab at Trump. “Yo, Mr. Trump. You has been convicted of 32 crimes. You stole classified documents. You boned nuff porn stars. And you ain’t never paid no taxes. Respeck! You is my hero!” The audience erupted in laughter as he continued his humorous critique.

Turning his attention to Harris, he quipped, “Yo, what is you doing later? When me look at you on the television me gets a massive election, alright. Can me just say to both of you that whatever happen, me is just glad that the next president won’t have white skin.” This tongue-in-cheek commentary highlighted the lighter side of a serious political atmosphere.

Switching to Borat mode, Baron Cohen didn’t hold back. He addressed Trump, saying, “Mr. Trump, sir, you say in Ohio that people eat the cats and the dogs. Which restaurant do they serve them at? Can you get me a reservation please? In my country, we have KFC – Kazakh Fried Cat. It pussy lickin’ good!” The crowd enjoyed this absurd take on American cuisine.

Next, he addressed Harris with another outrageous remark: “You are a woman, a person of colors, and are married to a Jew. I advise you not to come to Kazakhstan. You have already made three of the four crimes punishable by death. Please do not tell me that you have also made sexy times with an underage bear.” This blend of humor and political commentary showcased Baron Cohen’s unique ability to address serious issues while keeping the tone light.

The debate comes just weeks ahead of the election between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, scheduled for November 5. With polls showing a tight race, the comedic debate provided a refreshing perspective amid the serious political climate.

Currently, Sacha Baron Cohen is starring in Disclaimer, a psychological thriller series on Apple TV+ directed by Alfonso Cuaron. In the show, he plays the husband of Cate Blanchett’s character, a renowned documentarian who uncovers secrets from her life tied to a novel that reveals hidden truths.

Earlier this year, Baron Cohen faced allegations from actress Rebel Wilson in her memoir, where she claimed he acted inappropriately on the set of the 2016 film The Brothers Grimsby. Baron Cohen denied the allegations, which were later redacted in a UK edition of the book, claiming a “clear victory.”
